NRF APAC Recap: Driving the Future of Autonomous Supply Chains with Bersama

Scaling a retail supply chain across an archipelago of 17,000 islands and millions of independent warungs is one of the most complex infrastructure challenges in Indonesia. For a platform to achieve nationwide coverage without letting its operational overhead spiral, the underlying technology must move past traditional boundaries.

This exact challenge was the focal point for Indivara Group at the recent 2026 NRF’s Retail Big Show APAC at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. Organized by the National Retail Federation, NRF is one of the world’s premier retail technology events, bringing together global leaders to discuss advancements in logistics, automation, and AI.

Representing Indivara, our CTO, Antonius Kho, shared how we are exploring ways to solve these geographic distribution constraints by transitioning our warung enablement platform, Bersama, into an autonomous supply chain model. The joint session, titled “From Automation to Autonomy — A Retail Supply Chain’s AI Transformation at Scale,” provided an objective look at how we are testing the replacement of legacy systems with a unified technology engine designed for predictable, efficient growth.

In fragmented geographies, managing expanding order volumes across diverse distribution networks naturally requires a highly coordinated infrastructure. To maintain strong operational control and productivity at scale, Bersama is exploring how advanced AI technology can unify standard logistics functions. By looking into the integration of Warehouse Management (WMS) and Transportation Management (TMS) capabilities, we aim to evaluate how a single, cohesive platform can streamline regional distribution.

The engine behind this infrastructure pilot utilizes 46 specialized AI Agents. Rather than acting as simple bots for basic data entry, these agents function as digital workers designed to optimize our logistics network by linking operations across different platforms, tracking supply chain health to prevent logistical bottlenecks, and managing inventory and routing to ensure efficient nationwide distribution. This tech stack is being evaluated to ensure that as Bersama expands its reach, backend operations remain lean, highly predictable, and scalable.

Co-presenting alongside Philip Leong, President of International Business at Deep Insights Technology, Anton demonstrated how Bersama serves as a real-world case study for AI operating at a massive scale. The session offered an objective look at how technology can be applied to solve the unique geographical challenges of Indonesian retail distribution. Moving forward, we look to build on these initial explorations as we continue to innovate and expand Bersama’s footprint nationwide.
